DKGNJ is proud to announce the Second Annual Arts Festival, which will provide our members the opportunity to share their special talents & interests during April’s State Convention.

The festival will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in the large hallway by the hotel ballrooms. This light and airy location will be ideal for sisters to gather to enjoy the event!

Showcasing for this event may include artwork (ie. pottery, painting, textiles, photography, crafts), literature (ie. poetry, essays), as well as musical performance.  Artwork will not be judged, but will be included as part of a showcase for sisters to share their art.  Work submitted must be original (not from kits), one-of-a-kind, and creative.  All 2-D pieces must be matted or framed, including written works.

Registration for the State Convention Arts & Humanities Festival will take place after the holidays, and will be included with the registration materials.

Ideas Shared in 2023 State Organization EEC Chairs Training
  1. At a chapter meeting, explore the DKG Art Gallery on the website - Check out the submission process, Categories – photography, painting, drawing, crafts, mixed media, sculpture, writing (poems, essay, short stories)
  2. Encourage members to submit art for the DKG Art Gallery
  3. Many states hold Creative Arts Retreats where members spend time engaged in various projects related to a variety of art forms
  4. Have an arts display at state conventions - Raffle or have silent auction of items artists want to donate, Note – Please check the laws of your state, province and/or country as they relate to raffles based on tax laws 
  5. Include music at all meetings
  6. Invite artists to speak at chapter and state events
  7. Ask chapters to provide centerpieces at state organization conferences/conventions
  8. Encourage members to take classes to learn new crafts/arts and then showcase their items at the end of the class
  9. Highlight talents at conferences/conventions
  10. Invite performance groups to chapter and state meetings/conventions
  11. Sponsor essay contest for middle/high school students; invite top winners to a meeting to read their essays
  12. Fashion show
  13. Field trips - museums, galleries, theaters
  14. Create a craft at chapter and state meetings
