To all state committee chairs,
Can you believe that there are only 6 months left on your 2-year term as a state committee chair? I have been fortunate to have such a wonderful, hard-working and flexible group of women to work with during my biennium. Who could have predicted what our two years would look like?!?! While our work isn't yet finished, I want to start thinking about the future. First and foremost, I hope that many of you will continue on in your role for another biennium. Some of you were "seasoned veterans" when I became president and others stepped up to take on a role at the state level for the first time. As you can imagine, there was a lot of anxiety on my part in making sure all the positions got filled with women who were truly interested in serving DKGNJ. Believe me when I say that I slept better knowing I had such a great team to work with. Thank you so much for being the wind beneath my wings. ️ It won't be long before you will be asked whether you would like to stay on in your current position. I thought it might be nice for you to have some time to think about it. I hope that the majority of you will continue on. While I hate to give you homework, I was on the state website today and there are many attachments and forms that need to be updated. If your committee has anything uploaded on the website, could you please look it over and make sure that the information on there is current? One noticeable change that needs to be made on many documents and forms is to change "Alpha Zeta State" to "DKGNJ" or "The New Jersey State Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma International." Please note that there is no hyphen in "DKGNJ." It should simply be a matter of downloading the document(s), making the changes and sending them to Jan Paxton to upload again. I would like this to be completed by mid-January. Let me know if you run into any problems. We have a state meeting via zoom on Saturday, January 9th at 9 AM. If you would normally have a committee meeting at our state meeting, please arrange to meet with your committee before the state meeting. If you need me to set up a zoom meeting for you and your committee, I would be happy to do it. If you will be giving a committee report during our meeting, please let me know by January 2nd so I can put the agenda together. The other thing you need to do in the next 2 months is write up a biennial committee report. What did you do? How was it accomplished? These reports are normally printed in the convention booklet. I'm sure we will have something to include them in, even if the booklet is an electronic one. For some of you, your report may be short and sweet as the pandemic and lack of in-person conventions affected your role. Do the best you can. Please have your committee report to me no later than March 1, 2021. Finally, Heather Lieberman is looking for articles for the winter newsletter. If your committee has something noteworthy, I'm including her directions for submitting something to the newsletter. Here are Heather's directions: Winter Newsletter FYI Please submit all articles as either a google doc or microsoft word document. All submissions are to be sent to this email address (liebermandkg@gmail.com). Please do not send PDFs as they are challenging to edit/copy/paste. Please use Arial in a 12 point font. If you are going to share a picture please make sure it is in a jpeg or png format if you can. If not, please share it with me as an attachment in your email. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Feel free to email me here or text me at 305-978-1202. All article submissions are due to me no later than February 7, 2021.
