Dedicated Service Award – 2026 - Presentation by Barbara Henderson, Committee Chair
 
   I’d like to begin by acknowledging my committee this year.  Thank you to Joann Corvino, Karen Gamon, Ingrid Williams, Dr. Amy Fratz, and Cathy Fortunato. The results of this decision are from these dedicated and helpful women.  Just another example of the volunteer work DKG sisters do. Thank you.

   I feel that this year’s nominee is extra special because of the years of her service in education as well as her commitment to DKGNJ.    She provided a warm, nurturing environment for young children, embracing new ideas, ideologies, and practices for 50 years!!

   As dedicated as she was to her students she served on multiple committees locally and county wide. She won the district Teacher of the Year Award, and she has also worked as our contact in Trenton with NJEA and NEA.   Our winner this evening has been an active DKG member for 30 years. She has served as the president of her chapter, vice president, secretary, and parliamentarian.  She sponsored many initiates and was hostess for several “teas” in her home.

   Additionally, she was nominated the Woman of Distinction by Sigma Chapter, and nominated for this Dedicated Service Award years ago by Alpha Chapter.  As you can see this woman has earned the respect of many for all she does.

   I could go on for another half hour or more with all her accomplishments, but I’ll get to the one accomplishment all of you know her for and that is the Facilities Coordinator for our DKGNJ Convention here since 2004.  No one can wheel and deal like our gal Susan Davis!!!!
